Published by Ohad Nezer at 9:03 AM under Broadway Shows | Shows

With the world abuzz over the assassination of  Osama Bin Laden, it is fitting to review a Broadway show that deals with the aftermath of 9/11.   The critically acclaimed Rock Opera “American Idiot” aims to shed some light on an entire generation of young people that were shaken by the events of 9/11.  The show tells the story of 3 young men: Will, Tunny, and Johnny, all looking for their place in life.    The three best friends experience love, disappointment, envy, rejection and camaraderie in their journeys, until they all meet in the show’s final, sublimating scene.

The show feature a musical score comprised of the fantastic rock band Green Day’s complete album American Idiot.   The band noted that when writing the album they always had in mind that it may be a basis for a show, or a movie. The musical meets the albums lively tone with very energetic dance powerful acting and eye popping set design.

The show that aired in 2010 has earned mixed reviews among critics who may have had a tough time handling the young, next generation vibe that the show emits.   Audiences love it tough – it has snagged two broadway.com audience awards for best leading actor and for favorite ensemble, and was nominated  3 tony awards for best musical, Best Scenic Design of a Musical, and for Best Lighting Design of a Musical.  It has also won a Grammy Award for Best Musical Show Album.

The show that was running at the St. James Theatre on Broadway is now off the stage in preparation for a tour starting next fall.  Broadway show tickets for American Idiot are not available at the moment,  but you can get tickets to see the show on tour here.

Derrik Rose - The Chicago Bulls' Number 1

Published by Ohad Nezer at 1:38 AM under Sports

Chicago Bulls young star Derrick Rose is by far the NBA’s greatest surprise this season.  The 22 year old Rose has led the Chicago Bulls to a dominating Playoff position, with the best record in the league.  This is especially surprising considering the early expectation for the Miami Heat to annihilate the competition in the Eastern Conference. You can get tickets by going online at the official site of the Chicago Bulls as well as sites like Tickets Now. Derrick Rose is one of the hottest NBA players around. and could well be on his way to becoming the league’s Most Valuable Player (MVP). If this was to happen, Rose would be the Chicago Bulls’ first MVP since Michael Jordan. Rose was actually born in Chicago, and has always been a fan of the team.  Derrick grew up in one of the worst "hood" areas in the city and thanks to his on innate integrity and the vigilance of his family combined with his rare talent, he was able to pave himself a different path than most of his childhood friends.

Rose tries to give back to his family and community; he is involved in his youth camp, working with youth with short attention spans and short tempers. Rose likes to relieve the stress of his volunteer work with difficult youth by going  to the Bulls practice facility and practicing some more to further improve his game.  In fact, twenty-four access to the practice facility was one thing he demanded before joining the Bulls, as he feels the urge to practice at all hours. It would not be unusual to find him at his old neighborhood high school enjoying a pickup game with a few of his old buddies.  This is just the type of young man he is and one Chicago can be proud of.

You can enjoy watching Derrick play and feel the response of the crowd to him and how he plays to the crowd, by searching for your Chicago Bulls Tickets on SeatKarma.com. Rose delivers a fantastic game, judging by his 39-point game against Orlando. He doesn't quit, and is always out there putting forth all he's got to be the best. He has the confidence without the ego to win a place in every one's heart. Seeing this young player become the MVP player of the season would just be giving him what he has earned and deserves. It is difficult to find role models that youth today can look up to and aspire to be like them. Derrick Rose is an excellent role model for young people, instilling them with integrity and a desire to constantly better themselves.

An exciting musical and theatrical show for all ages, Broadway Rain Tickets are a huge hit. The Beatles tribute band chronicles the legendary band's career through song, attire, film and hairstyles. Experiencing the music from the very beginning through the late sixties, is a visual and musical event that every Beatles fan, young and old, should see.

Rain puts the audience smack in the middle of the Beatles musical sensation and career, through music as well as actual films and commercials played on the stage's backdrop. Fans will listen, watch, clap, sing and dance along with the tribute band.

Although the band will take the audience from the Ed Sullivan show through the long haired, psychedelic late sixties era, the show is kept clean and void of any drug or sexual innuendos. Kids will love the performance as they sing along with their parents. It is a fun nostalgic evening out on Broadway.

Throughout the show, there are close up camera shots of the Fab Four look-a likes projected on a large screen. The uncanny resemblances, the note for note music and the stage dress for each period in the Beatles musical career, brings each fan back to the good old days. Currently, this event can be seen at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre, New York. Tickets to the Broadway Show, Rain is what everyone is scrambling to get.
